Riggs Construction Co., Inc. was founded in 1992 by Michael C. DeRiggs, who holds a degree in Construction Technology and is a licensed Site Safety Manager.Riggs Construction Co., Inc. provides general construction and construction management services with experience in working for various public agencies and private corporations and we are a certified Minority Business Enterprise with New York State, New York City, New York City School Construction Authority and DASNY.

As a licensed general contractor with NYC Building Departments , our construction team is comprised of highly skilled and knowledgeable managers each having more than 20 years of experience in the industry. We are equipped to handle all types of construction, including but not limited to alterations, renovations, additions to existing structures and new construction. Safety is a top priority in all facets of construction, therefore, all supervisors are OSHA 30 hour trained and our employees are OSHA 10 hour trained. Additionally, we have a licensed Site Safety Manager who oversees the daily operation of all construction projects.

CERTIFICATION

Riggs Construction Co., Inc. received certification as a participant in the United States Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 8(a) Business Development Program. The SBA 8(a) Program is awarded to small, disadvantaged businesses in order to compete in the marketplace. Based upon this certification, Riggs Construction Co., Inc. is now eligible to bid on federal projects set aside specifically for 8(a) recipients.

Riggs Construction Co., Inc. is certified as a Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) to work on any Federally funded project. The DBE programs is a Federally regulated program that is required on all Federally assisted contracts.
